Subject Description

This subject equips students with the skills and knowledge to assess disaster events from clinical and healthcare management perspectives. It covers preparedness models and response planning at community, health service, national, and global levels, focusing on resource utilization, resilience, and recovery. Students engage with real-world cases and simulations to develop management strategies for natural and man-made disasters such as bushfires, floods, and infectious diseases. Learning formats include online modules, case studies, and a 2-day workshop featuring simulations and guest speakers. Collaborative discussions and informal exchanges among participants are integral to the learning experience.
